Week 2.5 Update (or thereabouts)

I’ve been a little behind on both writing and walking.  I’m working on fixing that soon…

Here’s the dilemma.  I wrote myself a check that my body couldn’t quite cash yet.  Oh, I’ve been doing much better – I”m getting at least 3 good walks in every week (basically every other day) – but that’s nowhere near what I need to be doing to get the Couch-to-5k going.

I do have the convenient excuses of having my parents coming to visit, choir practice at church, and my daughter getting much more involved in her upcoming Nutcracker performances.  But they are just that: excuses (even if valid and true).

I will say this – I have dropped 5 pounds already from my peak of about 215lbs to around 210 lbs. But that’s not good enough.  I need to get that down to at least 200 by Christmas…without starving myself.  I know that I can do it – I just need to pick up the pace. 

So this week, I’ll be making an effort to not only do the 30 minute walk, but actually get a good 5 minutes of jogging in there as well.   Honestly, I am a bit self-conscious about jogging.  I don’t know why, but I just feel a little goofy doing it.  I’ll get over that pretty quickly, though.

I’ll also need to pick up the pace with LeftOverChef.com - since Thanksgiving’s nearly here, and I haven’t done a darned thing with it yet…
